So, controversial maybe, but what do we want to achieve from group ride outs?
In my view they should be a learning opportunity as that is one of the main aims of the group.
They could be standardised routes for a given month of the year, aligned to the destination, either for an event of because it’s quite then.
Standardising the routes would make it easier on the lead rider and inform those attend of the desired route, destination and learning opportunity.
Rides could focus on specific aims ie :-
The drop off system
Slow riding
Town riding
Country riding
Dual carriageways and motorways ( faster roads)
Overtake opportunities
etc, etc.
